Second Sundays
At Trailhead we make a pretty big deal about loving and serving our community. Service helps us, to realize that the focus of church is not ultimately about us. It helps us learn to take seriously things that God cares deeply about: the needs of widows and orphans, homelessness, injustice, oppression, poverty, etc. And so, on the second Sunday of each month, we pick up and go. In the last year, we have served meals at The Denver Rescue Mission, painted at the St. Francis Center, and cleaned at Denver Street Schools. We have also brought meals to widows and orphans, cleaned leaves out of gutters, served food, landscaped yards, raked leaves, and volunteered at civic functions closer to home.
